are used to treat or restore decayed, cracked, chipped, discolored, and crooked teeth. Such procedures can also be used to close spaces in between teeth.

A crown or “cap” encases your tooth to restore its shape and strength. Crowns are routinely made for teeth that have broken, have large areas of decay or have had root canal treatment. Fillings when too large do not substantially increase the strength of a tooth. They can actually cause the tooth to become more vulnerable to fractures. In this situation a crown would be the best choice for long term treatment.

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth. A bridge like a crown encases the two teeth on either side of the missing tooth, with a suspended tooth in the center.

Crowns and bridges are made of various materials such as porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or all metal/ gold. Depending on the area of the mouth can determine the choice of gold vs. porcelain. Porcelain is extremely strong but can occasionally chip where gold could not. Esthetics plays an important role as well when deciding which material is best. When porcelain is the best choice, a shade is chosen to match your existing teeth.

Root Canals
Root Canal treatment is used for teeth with infections or abscesses due to decay exposing the canal or root of a tooth or for a tooth that has had trauma or fractured into the canal.

Sealants are a protective covering that is applied to the permanent back teeth or molars of children to prevent decay.

TMJ, temporal mandibular joint, diagnosis and treatment signs: clicking/popping, pain, headaches or locking of the jaw.

Extractions of teeth are used for non-restorable teeth, loose due to bone loss or infection, or in conjunction with orthodontics to allow enough room to align crowded teeth.

Whitening is a take home whitening system that is easy to use. An individual custom tray is made to fit the patients mouth using the whitening solution for 7 – 9 days.
